Literally 1 minute away from our front door the Restaurant du Barrage sits right on the river and in the summer months opens a veranda with super river views.
It's open every day for lunch and evenings except during the winter.
On the first Friday in every month the barrage hosts a special event inspired by some of the British residing in the area: Fish and Chip Night! We quality tested the event and have to report the standard is excellent.

One of our favourite bar/restaurants, the Viaduc is just five minutes walk away and offers food all day every day, including freshly-made pizza which is also available as a takeaway. The busy bar is very friendly and occasionally they host live music events.

Le 10 Bar Cafe is located in the main square of L'Isle-Jourdain and is usually open lunchtime and evenings until about 7pm. Once or twice a month there is live music alongside a special menu - details of upcoming events can be found on their Facebook Page.

La Cité D'Escrit is located in the heart of the medieval quarter of Montmorillon which has been bought, rehabilitated and renovated with the financial support of the government, the Region and the European Union. Since the opening in June 2000, the book stalls and artisanal boutiques have been rented by the City. It's a great place to spend the afternoon.

Adriers has a fortified church that anyone interested in medieval architecture will really like. It's a good stop if you are planning a cycling or hiking route. Adriers has a nice cafe-bar right opposite the church

The Val de Vienne circuit came about following a meeting between motorsport fans and local residents eager to promote and develop their region.
Built in 1990 by the Montmorillon region and financed by several local government agencies, it played host to its first motorsport event – the French Touring Car Championship – two years later.
The French Superbike Championship soon followed and, every year since, the Vienne area has hosted a wealth of major series and events.
The layout was once renowned for being one of the most technical in France but that all changed in 2008 when the only specification it lacked – a high top speed – was added. Two main straights were joined in order to create
