Back Door Bakery & Cafe really did burn to the ground some time ago and, thankfully, now it's back with a vengeance in the former Starbucks' location! Locals are cheering for the creative team behind this small but mighty "finally a foodie place in our 'hood" bakery-café-coffeehouse-art house-live music venue.
The orange-almond croissant has its own rabid following and sells out quickly. The Hazelnut latte comes with actual bits of nuts! The Lemon tart is tangy and wonderful. Muffins, breads, bagels and made-to-order items such as cakes and mocha ding-dongs! Try the caramel-chili latte...that'll get your taste buds to wake up, super fast. I love that they are now open at 6:00 am (as opposed to 7:00 am in their previous location- thank you!)
They have lunch and dinner items featuring fresh, organic and gluten-free ingredients. It is so very nice that they were able to reopen and continue to impress their loyal fans as well as win over new converts.
