Hermann’s love for a good party, the music and the patrons had him establish the Dixieland Inn at the hotel.
Hermann moved the club to the current View Street location in 1986 when it was renamed “Hermann’s Jazz Club”. In 2000 our 753 View street location suffered heavy damage from a fire. A testiment to his commitment, Hermann rebuilt at great expense. Our friend Hermann passed on June 10th, 2015. His family continues to be dedicated to this very special venue.
Longtime bands at the club include CanUS Hot Jazz Band, the Tom Vickery Trio and Dixieland Express. Now there are another three generations of musicians performing in what is an ever growing list of wonderful performers and good times.

The Sunday Market at Bastion Square opens Sunday May 1st, from 11 am – 4 pm and will runs every Sunday through October 2nd. We are located in Historical Bastion Square with a beautiful view of the harbor in downtown Victoria! We look forward to spending Sundays with you for another year!
