Swimming hole only known to locals
Spending so much of my time in this area, I know the best swimming spots in the local river. It is a 5-10 minute drive, go to down town North Woodstock (type in Woodstock Brewery ) in your GPS. There is parking on the road downtown all over. You will see a stone bench across the street from the brewery and a fence. Follow the steps down and it brings you to a section of the River with lots of swimming holes ! Bring a tube, and go down the falls to the end where the river pools again. It is such a fun spot.
