This beutiful old castle feateruing in Shakespears story with Hamlet is worth a visit. The town also has a lot of shops and you can take the ferry to Sweden for at day tour where you can visit Helsinborg and Kullen which is a nice place for trecking.

3 minues walk from here you will find a cozy area for a stroll to the little river flowing from the Esrum Lake to the ocean. Here you will find the tennis court, court for petanque and a foodball field. You can find rackets in the kids room, petanque balls in the shed. Tennis balls can be found inside the tennis club house. The tennis court is only open in the summer period. The code for the door is on the key bar inside the house. You book the tennis court by haning the small key lock in the day and time you want the court. We have a membership so this is for free for you and your family. If you have access to a kayak or canoo you can launch it at the small platform at the river and drive it all the way to the ocean and back. It is a nice little trip. You get to this area by following Sanglærkevej to the very end and continue another 100 meters straight on following the little path. Kayaks can be rented at the beach in the summer time. Look for the rental sign with a phone number to order from.

Walk or drive to Dronningmølle, turn to the right and you will find the beach 100 meters down the road where you have a huge parking lot. You can rent kayaks from here, by calling the rental company. The beach have a life guard in the summer months. The beach is usually very safe and good for children but always watch your kids and be careful in off shore winds. In the town you find small restaurents, ice cream shops, grocery shopping, a small bakery and a few other shops. You can also find miniature golf court. Some of the shops are only open during summer.

Hornbæk is a bit like Gilleleje but more posh and with better beaches. There is a great playground in the sand at the harbour. It is also possible to fish for crabs. Usually you can get some bait for free at the little fish shop. You can usually buy a little fishing pole at the nearby shops. There is a famous ice cream shop called Hansens Is that is worth a visit. You can rent paddle boards in Hornbæk too.
