The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is dedicated to preserving, exhibiting, and operating historic equipment. It houses over 40 historic rail cars including Presidential Rail Car 'Ferdinand Magellan'. U.S. Car No.1 is the only private coach railroad car specifically designed for the president of the United States. The Pullman Company built the Ferdinand Magellan in 1928, and refurbished the car and presented it (dubbed U.S. Car No.1) to President Franklin D. Roosevelt on December 18, 1942. Both President Roosevelt and President Truman used the car extensively for state business, reelection campaigns, and personal trips. Founded in 1957, GCRM was built on the former Naval Air Station Richmond (NASR), the second largest WWII airship base in the United States.

The Everglades spans across 1.5 million acres that stretches over the southern part of Florida. With the support of many early conservationists, scientists, and other advocates, Everglades National Park was established in 1947 to conserve the natural landscape and prevent further degradation of its land, plants, and animals. Entrance fee is $30 per car and good for 7 days. If you have a National Parks Pass you can use it here. There is nothing in the world like the Everglades. It is a must see.

More than 500 varieties of exotic fruits, herbs, spices and nuts from around the world; 180 varieties of mangos; 70 varieties of bamboo; 40 varieties of bananas; 15 varieties of jackfruit trees and numerous other exotic edibles are grown and maintained here. The only public garden of its kind in the United States, the park is operated by the Miami-Dade County Parks. Visitors can sample fallen fruit (no above-aground harvesting is permitted) and arrangements can be made with the management for collecting seeds and cuttings suitable for planting. A staff of experts conducts classes, workshops and botanical tours on a year-round basis. They have nice festivals throughout the year.
