Food Scene
The food here is very good, the prices are reasonalbe, and the service is excellent. I also love this restaurant because it serves breakfast. Not something you would think of as an option. They open early enough to get on the road for any day trips you have. It offers a nice menu for breakfast, you can order a traditional Mexican breakfast or your American menu of foods. Our favorite is the French toast. Either way, you will be delighted to taste what they bring to the table. I eat there at least 2 to 3 times a week when I'm in town. Its a fun place to meet my pals for lunch or happy hour.
I don't think they are open Sundays, so be sure to call.

I love this place because of Addy. She is an elderly lady who works there in the mornings and is a ray of sunshine. Also, I don't recommend hashbrowns anywhere, but instead I order home fries. Not seen on the menu, so this is just a tip.

On Sunday afternoons, why not? Grab a beer and order something traditional. I make seperate trips for dessert, but I just can't eat a lot at one setting. So....plan to come back!

Look for the Chicken!! The history of the restaurant is sweet, and the family who owns this iconic restaurant are so giving towards their community. Celeste and Cliff have left an incredible footprint in the area. The restaurant is worth going to and having one of their fruit burritos at some point is well worth the trip. They also have killer margaritas: be careful, they are infamous in their potency. What I don't like: having to pay extra for chips and salsa. Oh well. Expect to wait as they don't take reservations for less than a party of 5.

Italian. Great food, always packed, but never slow. If you are not a big eater, split a meal with someone. We always split and still take home left overs. Love Love this place. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

In addition to having fun things to do with the kids or at night, Triple Play does have food available. We go to Triple Play for putt putt with our daughter, but they have lots of games and activities both in and outside. Batting cages, Corn Hole, air hockey, basketball arcade, ect.

I love this zoo because it offers an easy walk to my friends who have problems with too much walking, but allows for a beautiful environment that is usually fun filled with the goofy antics of the animals. We have enjoyed watching different animal groups grow their families here, and we have been saddened when we lose one to old age. In January of 2017 they moved the gibbons next to the tigers, and what a hoot that was to see as the tigers adjusted to their new noisey neighbors. Reid Park Zoo has been lucky enough to grow their elephant family as well, and I would recommend you search for videos of Nandi on Youtube.
I would not recommend the cafe.

Iconic town....gun fights, barbeque, boot hill....take it in and then be glad to come back home to Green Valley. Fun day trip. Look for Empire Ranch on your way. Strange place to visit.

This is one of the Padre Kino Mission sites and is roughly the same age as the more popular and still operating San Xavier Del Bac in Tucson. The comparison of the two is interesting. This is a national park, so if you have passes, then it's free to get in. Otherwise it's pretty reasonable. The patio garden just outside the office and gift shop is well worth strolling in and looking for butterflies or lizards. Check their websites for schedule of night walks. Usually when the full moon is out.

If you are a movie buff, you'll enjoy walking around and visualizing all the movies which were filmed here. This place also had activities and shops and live shows. There is also a horse stable kept here and they do offer rides. It's a nice ride and easy for kids. I enjoy getting out on horse back in the desert, and the folks here are very sweet and good with families.

I enjoy getting out on horse back in the desert, and the folks here are very sweet and good with families.
Interesting old ranch,. No one was there the day we scouted it out. The historic Empire Ranch has been a working cattle ranch for 140 years. Its rich history includes successive ownership by two prominent ranching families, two corporations, and finally by the federal government on behalf of the general public.

A great drive from GV, and a beautiful spot to picnic. I can't wait to take a kayak out there. I have also been told it's a nice place to camp. That will have to wait until I retire.

You can call ahead to reserve a space on the shuttle that takes you up the mountain to the observatory. We are from the pacific northwest, so to see the change in topography as we climb higher and higher is fun. The trees start to resemble our pines here in Washington. The trip takes a few hours. They stop for lunch along the way at a park, bring your own there are no vendors. That can be fun too...planning your picnic! Once you get to the top, you can see forever. Several mountain ranges and down to Mexico. It's incredible. It's also not a crowded activity, but do call ahead and make a reservation.

The whole town is brimming with artists and whimsy. I love the incredible talent found here. If you love window shopping this is the place. You can get anything from yard art to jewelry. If you bring kids, expect them to get bored and tired, but there is an ice cream spot as well as other restaurants.

One of the best collections in Tucson. Works are mainly from European and North American artists, ranging from the Renaissance to current artist. What drew me here originally was one of the permanent exhibits. A 26 panel alterpiece of Ciudad Rodrigo produced in the late 15th century. It survived wars and moving and brings an interesting story. Highly recommend it.
