The original N7 roastery. These guys still churn out high quality small batch roasted coffee for all tastes. I’m a big fan of their house espresso blend - Balzac’s cup. It’s good value and perfectly balanced. You can work from the private garden in the back too. A Holloway must visit for coffee lovers.

The Caravan brand is pretty big and their N7 roastery supplies their major outlets and a host of cafes and boasts some impressive equipment. The cafe has only recently opened up and has a very cool friendly local feel to it. And yes the coffee and cakes are banging too.

The main shopping and eating area of Angel is packed with high class shopping and eateries for discerning taste. It’s a short bus ride or a pleasant 45 min walk from Widdenham road.

From here you have views of the whole city. Very nice neigbourhood coffee shops and pubs and some beautiful green spaces that are all walking distance - highgate wood, queens wood, Highgate cemetery, waterlow park and of course Hampstead Heath.

Hampstead is probably the nicest place to live in London if you have expensive taste (and very deep pockets!) But there is plenty to see and do on a budget too. My personal highlights are: 1) Kenwood House - attached to the Heath and the setting for many famous period dramas 2) Hill Garden and Pergola - London’s best kept secret garden 3) The Hollybush Inn - a very traditional wonky old English pub with countryside feel. You might even spot a few celebrities at the bar!
