We live in Lafayette Square and have been eating here since opening night. Polite Society is great for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. The food is fabulous, but the service is always unpretentious...a true neighborhood gem. We have a lot of out-of-town guest and always bring them here--they love it. Just good food in a beautiful, historic building. Never had a bad visit; can't recommend enough, whether it's just dinner or a Very Important Dinner.

When in St. Louis, one needs to have Gooey Butter Cake. I researched ahead of time who had the best and Park Avenue Coffee came up numerous times. We were lucky that there was a location near where we were staying so one of the mornings we were visiting we stopped in.
The location of this Park Avenue Coffee is amazing. Lafayette Square is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. This high rent area was quiet on a Sunday morning which was really nice.
We got hot tea, a toasted bagel with cream cheese and some gooey butter cake to go. There were a number of people who looked nice and relaxed having coffee and relaxing - it was a wonderful atmosphere.
The tea was wonderful (we are not coffee drinkers) as was the bagel and cream cheese and the gooey butter cake was Ahhhmazing!!! We got the traditional gooey butter cake and the chocolate. Oh, baby...soooo good.
I highly recommend Park Avenue Coffee for a wonderful start to any day!!

Excellent service, delicious food, and breath-taking atmosphere. If you have a sweet tooth, this place is perfect for you! I went with a group of 8 friends, and we had a blast. We felt like royalty because of the kind and outstanding staff.

I expected to have them served warm and ooey gooey but the came cold in a paper bag, again only there for the drinks. Overall still a 5 experience.

Love to experience new restaurants and this was a first for me. I understand I need to cut down on red meat and every other thing I like. But after not having steak for awhile I decided to try Hamilton's Urban Steakhouse. Could not have made a better choice! My medium ribeye was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I've heard a little salt and pepper is all a good steak needs but the dry rub they seasoned this with was on point! I regret not trying the bread pudding. Very nice bourbon selection. Thanks Jeff!

They do have a menu, we ordered appetizers but no meal. We sat at their indoor bar area our first visit, but they have a very nice outside patio with a large fire pit that we enjoyed the second night we were there. Yes, it was good enough we went back!
I work in the BBQ industry, and am around high quality BBQ on a daily business. I really enjoyed this experience. They didn't try to hard - simple, straightforward BBQ. Their ribs are their specialty - so 3 of our party of 4 got ribs. I'm more than happy with my choice. I do wish I would've sampled other options (Burnt Ends & Tri-Tip - yes please!). Someone in our Party got a Pastrami Sandwich - looked very authentic with thinly slice meat & on a rustic rye. The beans were PHENOMENAL! I could've downed 2 helpings. Also, the deviled-egg potato salad was a good choice. The venue felt classic, and fitting to the general vibe. The staff was curious & helpful. The food came out very quickly. We showed up at a really good time (apparently), but it got full really fast. Outside seating was available, but we sat inside. I'd go back there for lunch tomorrow if I could. Needless to say, I highly recommend Bogart's Smokehouse.
