City/town information

Walks/ Parks If you like to walk, there are many great destinations that are a pleasant 20 - 30 minute walk from the house. Along the way there are many plaques on homes that indicate the age of the house and the occupation of the original owners. Crocker Park - Crocker Park overlooks Marblehead Harbor and has views to Boston. If you visit during the summer, bring your bathing suit and jump in from the dock. During the summer there are outdoor concerts and other events at the park. Fort Sewall - This park/fort overlooks Marblehead Harbor with views to Beverly and harbor islands. The fort was used in action during the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. It has recently been renovated with new paths and benches. Old Burial Hill - A very scenic graveyard, with views of Old Marblehead, the harbor, and the sea. It was established in 1638 at the site of Marblehead’s first meeting house and is the burial site of some 600 Revolutionary soldiers, most in unmarked graves. (Trip Advisor) Abbot Hall - The Spirit of 76 painting is housed here on the first floor as well as the Maritime Museum (Entry is free for both) There are artifacts dating back the the 1700’s along with some letters from George Washington. Located at the tip of Marblehead Neck. Castle Rock - It’s easy to miss the opening to the short part that leads to a rocky out cropping with some great views. Located off Ocean Ave, next to Carcassonne Castle on the Neck. Bike Path At the end of Bessom St (across from the parking lot) there is a bike path for joggers and bicyclists. About 800 feet from the start, the path forks. The left will take you to Marblehead, close to streets that lead to Deveraux beach and further down the path to Preston Beach. The right will take you to Salem. This path goes into Salem State University campus and eventually to downtown Salem. It continues part way on bike path/ partially on street to Beverly and Manchester by the Sea. Other things to do in town Movies-The Warwick Cinema is right down the street. Movies change weekly.
