Food Scene

The sushi is great and it is all you can eat. The space is very nice. And it has a lot of delicious non sushi dishes!

Now there are many restaurants and it's a little bit like a local chain but this is the first one. Small, cramped and delicious. If you go on the right night there is real ado music. They close the kitchen, turn down the lights and everything just to listen to it!

Drinks & Nightlife

This place is the heart of cool Porto nightlife. Just get there (in the Summer the subway runs 24 hours) and find the place you think is most inviting. Don't like it? Just go to the one next door! :)

This is the Eiffel built bridge. Usally you see it from Ribeira but if you take the metro to the first Gaia stop (jardim do Morro) or just walk accros it by sunset you will have the most inexpensive, stunning view. (if this is a romantic trip, this one is for you ;) ) The small garden on the other side has stunning views as well. Not the most safe of places after dark so I recommend to first go there and then walk to the Porto side.

Go to the top floor, where the restaurant is. Don't worry you don't have to actually eat there. There is a stunning view on the roundabout and it's iconic statue.

Parks & Nature

It has great gardens and is quite big. A mix between french and english style complete with an art deco main house. It is the ground for the modern art museum. Free entrance on sunday mornings. The modern art musem restaurant used to have very good (if expensive) food.

The gardens are beautiful in themselves but if you climb down to the Douro oriented part, there is one piece of forgotten grass with an old water spring that I love very much.

It has loads of sand, Can get here by subway on the blue line, Huge side walk that you can follow all the way to douro river and ribeira if you have the time. You can surf here! Water is not the cleanest, it's a city beach after all.

My favorite surf beach! Has a great surf school where you can learn and rent material. Totally worth the trip. You really feel the authentic north beach (which unfortunately also means the water is freezing....)

Arts & Culture

This in the heart of Porto new art place, like a one street Camden with no river :D The cool thing to do is to go here on the weekend when all the shops change the window displays and all the art galleries change the exhibitions. It's the whole afternoon of entertainment.
