There are only 2 recreational marijuana shops in Manitou. If by chance you are travelling through Pueblo or Denver to get here: buy on the way! It's way cheaper tax wise... otherwise, these two carry all you need to experience the CO 420 scene

Food Scene
Colorado doesn't really have it's "own" cuisine (or accent, lol)... so we borrow from the best. You will find a lot of green chilis used everywhere, some nods to our roots with Bison and Elk, as well as a strangely (Californian) love for seafood. TBH, as a native, I've always thought it odd how much CO loves seafood but also started eating sushi at 5 years old so...no complaints! Lol.
Anywho, this is only a teeny list of the cool places to eat here. I hope you get to check some out. 👍🏻👍🏻

Sightseeing
Weather warning: CO is famous for fincky weather, especially here in the mtns. SO: always have sunscreen, some light jacket, and a hat. If you have the stuff, you won't miss it. 👍🏻👍🏻 also, don't run away from an outdoor event too quickly, our weather also shifts quickly. In the Spring-Fall you can and might experience all four seasons with snow to hot hot sun in one day. One guarantee is that the sun never hides for more than 36 hrs. Dress in layers, expect wind.... have fun!!!! 😁😁 Oh, and don't feed the turkeys: they get aggressive 😬😂

Wear comfortable shoes, it's on a mountain and you'll be walking a LOT. Absolutely the best zoo I've ever been to though. They truly focus on rehabilitation and natural safe spaces for the animals. There is also a quick drive up past it to some cool lookouts and old buildings/churches.

Christmas themed spots, rocks, icecream (like 4+ individual shops...lol...we really like icecream), souvenirs, penny arcade (more like quarter now), very dog friendly, and cool spots to try the mineral spring water (not tasty fyi but pretty cool). Each season has festivals and summer time outdoor movies/music for free.
During tourist season, there is a free shuttle bus that runs from Beckers to downtown and back every 25 mins (park for free on El Paso or in the lot at the baseball/skate parks on Beckers)
