Canton is a short 30 minute drive from our property on the lake. Women from all over the state drive to Canton for the entire weekend to enjoy 1st Monday Trade Days. Many groups wear matching shirts!
Canton Trade Days starts the Thursday before the 1st Monday of the month and ends on that Monday. The biggest day is usually Saturday but my favorite day to go is on Thursday or Friday to beat the crowds!

Eating on the Lake
We have a nicely stocked kitchen if you prefer to eat in. But if you want to take in lake life, head into any of the 6+ towns around the perimeter of the lake. Most restaurants are little holes in the wall so don't be expecting the fancy Dallas feel. Instead, you'll get some good home cooking and you can wear your shorts and a hat!
I have found 1 exception to this though: W456 which is literally 5 minutes from our place. It's a very upscale restaurant where reservations are needed.
Good BBQ and it's coming a bit closer to us. Check to see if the one in Gun Barrel City is open before driving to Kemp.

This restaurant is so close to our place that not only do we go in and eat, but will drive through often. Very reasonably priced and a variety of options, including family packs.

Also, it's BYOB. I'm changing it to Bring Your Own Butter! Yes, they have squeezable Parkay for guests, but I prefer real Butter! haha!
