From peso exchange, to menus at most restaurants and so much more it really can help guide you to a successful trip. **WE are NOT affiliated, but we live here and find it useful almost daily.

There are so many ways to get around Isla Mujeres. Our favorite is renting a golf cart, but it's also the most expensive. You can rent motor, bikes or just walk too. Taxis are usually easy to get, but we do aways ask how much before entering the taxi. Most guests catch them from the SW corner of the property. Buses come right by the house approximately every 15 minutes. (Note Island time) It will cost 20 pesos per ride/per person and you can simply stand and ask the driver to stop at any point you need off the bus. Daily passes are available.

You will get more bang for your buck if you convert your USD to pesos either before you arrive or here on the island. The establishment has to convert them so they set their own rate, it's not a bank rate. You'll find many places don't accept credit cards so please always ask before ordering. Please ALWAYS tip in cash when possible, this will ensure your server receives the money that day and doesn't have to wait.

If you want to stay in and have food delivered there are many options. Here are two we use often. 1st is Merca Isla. It's a facebook group, and often they will delivery food directly to the house. There are so many, but the two we use often are: Walk out the guest door and head left, toward the Caribbean. At the corner you will see "red doors" and what we call the "Coke A Cola" store. It's a small store, but has bread, milk, eggs and non alcoholic beverage among other things. Walk out the guest door and head left, at the first corner go left. At the end of the block it's on the left. Karenpool it's name. Larger selection including alcohol, ice, ice cream, snacks and some household items.

If you go north on Jesus Martinez Ross after approx 5 pm you'll see Tacos Erika (a little local stand) about 1.5 blocks up and on the left and Dona Maria (great local fare) about 2 blocks up and on the right. Times/Days for Dona Maria differ, but if you catch them open you won't be sad.
