Getting to Malvan
By Train: Malvan does not have its own Railway station. Kudal is the closest one around 30kms. you can take a local bus or hire a rickshaw / car which would take around 1.5hrs to reach Malvan
By Bus: Malvan ST Bus stand is fairly active and has bus services from different parts of Maharashtra.
Private luxury buses operate too and they usually stop near the ST Bus Stand.
By Road: If you are driving from Mumbai/Pune, you can turn right at Kasal from the Mumbai Goa Highway. 30kms approx 1.5hrs
If you are traveling from Goa/south, you can turn left at Kudal from Mumbai-Goa Highway

Buy Fresh Fish
Malvan fish market is operational from morning till 2pm and restarts from 6in the evening. This is a place to get decent fish and test your bargaining skills 馃槄
Another good option is to buy from fisherladies who come to your doorstep. they have fresh fish (but small ones) from the Rapan (net fishing).
If you are in a bigger group you might want to explore the Malvan Auction. it Happens twice a day morning around 8am and Evening around 6pm. It happens behind the fish market on the beach (different place in morning and evening). It is fun to bid and by far the cheapest and best fish get.

Cashew Factory Tarkarli
On Tarkarli Road, at the very beginning, is the Laxminarayan Cashew Factory. They do drum roasted cashews of nuts sourced locally.
You may feel the rates are competitive, however, bear in mind, these are drum roasted which leads to maximize taste and shelf life.
