The ‘sensory garden’ is just round the corner - it’s community run and free to visit. Full of herbs and scented flowers in summer, with picnic tables and benches for lunch or coffee.

Falkland is a peaceful village, 30 minutes drive. It has a well preserved Renaissance palace and grounds which you can visit. There is also an excellent organic shop and cafe (‘Pillars of Hercules’).
Hopetoun House is a 25 minute drive and is open to the public. It is a fine stately home belonging to the Marquess of Linlithgow and designed by the famous Adams architects in the early 1700s.

Leith is the old port of Edinburgh. It now has the most vibrant nightlife and some top class restaurants, such as ‘The Kitchin’. It’s 30 mins walk from Waverley station (15 minutes bus).

Aberdour station is two minutes walk away.

Trains run every half hour and it takes about 30 mins to get to the centre of Edinburgh (Waverley). You can also take direct trains north, to Dundee and Perth, or connecting trains for St Andrews or Aviemore.

Edinburgh airport is 35 mins (train/tram) or 20 mins drive

Take the tram to Edinburgh Gateway (8 mins) and then overland train to Aberdour (21 mins). Alternatively, you can take the 747 bus to Inverkeithing (20 mins) and train to Aberdour (7 mins), but connections may take longer. You can also take Uber, taxi or hire cars which take approximately 20 minutes drive.
