Costco is approximately a 40 minute drive, but is by far the best deal in town. The prices here are the closest to "mainland" prices you'll find. Especially the fuel!

Hapuna Beach
Hapuna is the beach most would describe as "best" on the island. And it's only a 15 minute drive!
Locally known as "Beach 69", as it is approximately abeam mile marker 69 on the highway. Although this beach is smaller than Hapuna, and often overlooked by the masses, this is our go-to beach, because it has the added benefit of shade trees over the sand, and superior snorkeling. 15 minute drive!

Waialea Beach
Old Puako RoadLocally known as "Beach 69", as it is approximately abeam mile marker 69 on the highway. Although this beach is smaller than Hapuna, and often overlooked by the masses, this is our go-to beach, because it has the added benefit of shade trees over the sand, and superior snorkeling. 15 minute drive!
Food Scene
Our number one favorite local restaurant! It's almost the only place around that offers excellent food combined with affordable pricing!
Our top two menu items are the Panang Curry and Sizzling Teriyaki Beef!

Merriman's is the best of the best. Most locals refer to this as the best food on the island. Just be aware, the prices are not for those on a tight budget.

If the word "Beer" perks your ear, you most definitely shouldn't miss a chance to visit the iconic Kona Brewing Company. Tours are available daily, and they have a superb restaurant, complimented by a superior assortment of beers, even some that are still in the experimental phase! My favorite is the Koko Brown... :)

Tours are available daily, and they have a superb restaurant, complimented by a superior assortment of beers, even some that are still in the experimental phase! My favorite is the Koko Brown... :)
