This is our favourite restaurant in Taihape. Mains are on the expensive side, but well worth it. Great for the family. Excellent steaks as well as salads. Booking is a good idea, as it is often packed.

This is a wonderful family activity - lots to learn about NZ army history, with many artifacts and displays. Will not disappoint! Fun for kids to climb around on top of the several tanks positioned outside as well, which is free!

amazing tramp, not far from Taihape, about 45 minutes drive. 3 hour tramp to top of hill where the hut is located. Excellent for younger trampers (probably minimum age 10).
