This restaurant offers the most amazing waterfront view in Buffalo. It’s situated in Delaware park (designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, best known for his design of New York City's Central Park) across from the Albright Knox art gallery. They serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 2:30 pm and dinner on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4 pm to 10 pm. Call or go online to make a reservation. After you’re done eating, drive around (or take a walk) and enjoy the Victorian mansions on Soldiers Place, Chapin Pkwy, Bidwell Pkwy, and Lincoln Pkwy (Buffalo is ranked #1 in the nation for having the highest number of old homes).

They serve a variety of soufflé omelets and artisan pancakes. Our favorites are the Dutch baby, banana pancakes, potato pancakes, and chocolate French toast.

If you want to sneak some booze in for breakfast this is the spot for you. They open at 7 am and have a full bar. While the bartender is very creative and can make almost anything for you, I recommend you try the Bloody Mary. Their toast is made from homemade bread and they serve a variety of breakfast items. This restaurant has basic breakfast options but it’s located in the village of Williamsville which would allow you to then walk just 5 minutes to Glen Falls, which is a beautiful waterfall right off of Main Street with residential homes facing it. Afterwards, you can stop by Sweet Jenny’s (also a short walk from Glen Falls) which is a chocolate and ice scream shop located inside of a historic water mill from 1811.

Clay Handi is one of our favorite restaurants. They serve authentic Pakistani food. Their chicken Tandoori is cooked to perfection. I recommend you order it with a side of rice. They have several different types of bread (naan). Pictured here is the lamb Biryani (be careful not to chew and eat the raw pieces of spice in the dish, they’re meant to be separated from the rice before you eat it), and also deep fried samosas. They do have very slow service though, in fact one of the worst I’ve ever seen, but we keep going back because the food is amazing.

You’ll see the owners barbecuing as you enter the restaurant (19 minute drive from the house, and they’re closed Mon, Tue, Wed). You have the choice of eating indoors or outside on the upper patio that has a really nice view. They have one of best barbecue in Western New York. The brisket is very thick and nicely seasoned and the corn bread has jalapeños in it.

Buffalo’s rich industrial past is soaked in beer. In 1919, on the eve of Prohibition, Buffalo was home to twenty-nine breweries and featured more than 8,000 drinking establishments. Today, the Buffalo area has nearly 50 craft breweries.

Make sure you bring your passport or enhanced driver’s license so you can cross the border. The drive from Buffalo to Niagara-on-the-Lake which passes through multiple vineyards is the most gorgeous rout in the area and you can enter each of the wineries for very inexpensive wine tastings.
