Beach Passes
If you want to park on the beach, you will need a beach pass. During summer months you can buy at kiosks on the beach. They can also be purchased at any gas station on the island, CVS, and some beach shops.
If you do not want to park on the beach, there are a few parking lots you can park. The most common one is the Windward lot located on Windward drive. It is next to the Holiday Inn on the beach.

Golf Carts
There are many place to rent a golf cart! They are great for beach cruising! However, golf carts are NOT allowed on Park Road 22 (aka South Padre Island Drive). That is the main highway on the island. Drivers are allowed to CROSS the street at lights, but NOT allowed to drive on the main road itself. It is very dangerous and causes a great deal fo stress to other drivers.
