Sightseeing
A local free park with spectacular red rock formations! Spend several hours or a whole day hiking, biking, or even rock climbing with a permit! Many trails especially near the main formations are paved and wheelchair / stroller accessible. We live within walking (approx 20 minutes) or biking distance of the park (5 min), but there is also typically plenty of parking near the entrance on 30th Street. Be sure to visit the Visitor's Center and the Trading Post, too!

For an even bigger adventure, there are local helicopter rides and white water rafting companies that can give you a totally different perspective of the gorge!

Pikes Peak is known as America’s Mountain - the 14,000+ high peak that inspired the song “America, the Beautiful”. You can visit the summit by hiking the Barr Trail from Manitou, the Craggs Trail from Divide, take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway from Manitou, or drive up the Pikes Peak Highway (be mindful of the many switchbacks and steep road!). The view from the top is stunning in every season! And you have to try the famous Apple cider donuts at the summit house!
