Food scene

The concept of this local taco gem is rooted in the El Paso Mexican culture and the relationship it has with it's sister city of Juárez, Mexico. Make sure you call to make a reservation as they have limited seating. It's not ideal for large parties. $$

City/town information

Old Mesilla is an incredible little New Mexico town full of fun southwest history. From where Billy the Kid escaped from jail to haunted old bar at The Double Eagle it's full of interesting spots. The placita is absolutely enchanting. It's about an hour away from this location so if you're looking to take a fun day trip I highly recommend this place! Eat at La Posta! You won't regret it.

Neighborhoods

Downtown El Paso is one of the most interesting downtowns. It sits right at the El Paso/Juarez border. You almost feel like your in Mexico in some parts. There is a growing exciting night life happening. New hot bars and restaurants. The weekends are lively with families walking around. As with many downtowns you should definitely be careful walking in certain spots especially at night. Parking is also tricky sometimes but not impossible. You will most likely have to pay for parking whether it's a garage or street parking. My favorite spots are: • Elemi - Tacos $$ • Cafe Central - $$$$ Fine dining • Anson 11 Bistro - Drinks & snacks $$$ • Hotel Indigo - Rooftop bar! Beautiful views of downtown! $$ • Taconetta - Easy & delicious tacos $$

Shopping

Great places to shop and eat!
The Fountains at Farah is an outdoor shopping mall full of retail stores, restaurants and occasional outdoor events. It's about an 18 minute drive from this location. If you are on a shopping mission just a 3 minute drive from The Fountains is Cielo Vista Mall which is an indoor mall with even more shops if you still haven't had your fix!
