If you want to do a day trip, I would recommend entering the park thru the South entrance. Traffic does get heavy at the Grand Canyon village as well as parking is hard to find…so you might want to avoid it and just head straight to the different view points. Depart from the East entrance and look for one last scenic stop ‘Little Colorado River Gorge’.
