Trinidad is one of my family’s favorite places in Humboldt County. Look up low tide times and hike down the cliff-side steps down to the ocean. There are so many star fish, anemones, and other ocean creatures to discover between all of the rocks.

This is a beautiful hike suitable for beginners, through lush ferns on canyon walls. Don’t miss the herd of elk that congregate just outside Fern Canyon. Gold Bluff beach is across from the entrance and is a great place for relaxing after the hike, having a picnic, and enjoying the beautiful ocean.
