Gveleti waterfall, which can be translated as the Snake’s Waterfall, is one of the most splendid waterfalls in Georgia. It is located in Kazbegi, in the Gveleti village. It’s really very easy to get there. The traffic road from Kazbegi to the village is only 7 kilometers and the path from the Gveleti village to the waterfall- less than 1 km. There are many wonderful places for a picnic near the waterfall, from here one can see picturesque views all over the Kavkasioni. Also, in the village there is the remnant ancient castle of the feudal Georgia.

Truso Valley is located in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Kazbegi municipality. The valley was formed by the river Tergi, on the northern slope of the Caucasus Mountains, between the main watershed of the Caucasus Mountains and Khokhi Ridge, from the Truso Pass to the village Kobi (length 25km). The lowest part of the valley is 2000 m above sea level (near the village Kobi). Truso Valley consists of strongly folded layers of lower-and Middle-Jurassic slate-sandstones, Upper-Jurassic carbonate layers. Diorite intrusions are exposed on the Khokhi ridge. Upper-Pliocene-Pleistocene-Holocene effusions (andesites, etc.), travertines derived from mineral waters, glacial, and river sediments are widespread. There are modern glaciers on the surrounding ridges (west, middle, and east Suatisi, Mna, Resi and etc.). Old glacial trogues, circuses, moraines; Volcanic cones, and lava flows are well-apparent. Truso Valley is rich with hydro carbonic mineral waters. Keterisi and Abano are rivers with great outflow. There are almost no plants in the valley. It is covered with subalpine and alpine grasses. Truso Valley is on the edge of depopulation.

Betlemi Hut ( also known as Meteo Station) is a base camp for them who are willing to climb to Mount Kazbek It is located in Kazbegi municipality, on the route to Mount Kazbek 3650m above sea level. Overnight There are two alternatives for overnight at the campsite: overnight at a private tent, next to the station of Bethlemi Hut, or overnight in Betlemi Hut, where a hostel operates. You will have to pay on both occasions. Overnight at Meteo is more expensive but warmer. If you are sensitive to cold, don’t get greatly disturbed by other’s snoring, and can pay 40 Lari per night, then Meteo station is exactly for you! Although if you have a warm sleeping bag, love to save money, and prefer to sleep in the fresh air, you can spend the night for 10 Lari at your own tent. Do not forget to arrange an anti-wind barrier with stones, otherwise, you may wake up in Kazbegi the next morning. If you decide to spend the night at the building, take into account, that Meteo has most visitors in August-September, therefore during this time, it is better to book a place in advance, so as not to return back. Water The water in the camp flows on a schedule: from 9:00 am to 7:00-8:00 pm, depending on temperature. This is because the water gets frozen at night and in the morning, under the sun rays it starts melting and flowing again. The water mostly looks muddy, so if you are afraid of bacterias it is better to carry the water filter pills with you. Hygiene On Meteo, hygiene norms do not excide zero much. The official toilet here is so unhygienic and cluttered that people often use the spare plan and get things done near the tent. Consequently, the wind, saturated with the smell of feces, can blow at any time and from any direction. There is also a huge landfill on Meteo, created by lazy tourists who think that the Tbilisi Cleaning Service serves this place and wait in vain for a garbage truck that flies by helicopter once a year and carries tons of garbage from this place. As we already mentioned the wind is typical for this place and the garbage can often be seen scattered near the campsite as crow’s feathers. Food In Betlemi Hut there is one shared dining room for everyone, where if you get lucky, you will find a sitting area and enjoy your noodles deliciously. You need to have your own dish and a gas cylinder. Here you will not find the hot water, washtub, microwave or refrigerator. The main disadvantage of Betlemi Hut is filthiness and the main advantage is solid walls, which will safely protect you from the wind.

Gergeti Trinity is located in Kazbegi municipality, 1 km from the village Gergeti, 2200 meters above sea level. It is the most popular tourist destination in Georgia. The Trinity Church of Gergeti, with its history and location, is the face of Georgia - a Christian island hidden in the most beautiful nature. How to get to the Gergeti Trinity? Construction of Gergeti Road has been completed in the fall of 2018 and from now on you can visit the temple with any type of car. You can also get to Kazbegi by minibus, then rent a taxi or walk from the village of Gergeti. The distance is quite short and it takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to walk. Minibuses depart from Didube bus station in Kazbegi direction. Date of build and name The exact date of construction of the Gergeti Temple is unknown (However, according to ancient sources and architectural styles, the Trinity was built in the XIV century during the ascension of the Georgian Church), there is no information about the builders and its construction as well. In its name, the term "Gergeti" is attributed to the location where the temple was erected. Earlier, the village of Gergeti was cultivated on the left side of the river Tergi, and on the right side -the administrative center of the historic gorge- Stepantsminda. The temple is built on the left side, on the territory of Gergeti settlement. In the last third of the XX century, in 1966, the village of Gergeti joined Kazbegi, but the old name of the church remained unchanged, and it is still called the Gergeti Trinity. History According to Teimuraz Batonishvili's "History of Iveria", earlier a cross was erected on the site of the Gergeti Trinity Temple on Mount Trinity. George the Brilliant charged the Gergeti population with the supervision of the temple, who were considered to be a "Sakdrisshvili of the Trinity," his servants. In the following centuries, other kings of Georgia also claimed this honor to the population of Gergeti. The Trinity of Gergeti was the refuge of the “Mtskheta Jewelry”. For a long time here was laying one of the most sacred relics of Georgian Christians - the Cross of St. Nino, the honor of whose possession was shared with Svetitskhoveli and Tbilisi Sioni. Here, in Gergeti was written the chronicle "Mosakhsenebeli sultai", Reminiscent of the Soul- a collection of documents containing interesting information about the ravine, as well as about the history of Georgia. If you visit the Gergeti Trinity do not forget that it is an active monastery first and then a tourist destination. So respect the rules of the monastery. Women should wear a dress and cover the hair with a headscarf. Men Do not enter the monastery area in shorts.
