Even though it is the second Town Hall to be built, it was built in 1912. So, if you are someone who loves a bit of heritage, it has been on the Queensland Heritage Register since 29th May 1998, and gives you something to look at if you head to Sydney Street. It's not too far away from places like Caneland Shopping Centre (about 5 mins by car and 15 mins by walking), Queens Park on Goldsmith Street (3 mins by car and 15 mins by walking) and Escape Rooms Mackay (4 mins by car and 14 mins by car).

Botanic Gardens with free guided walks available. It features several different types of flora in the Gardens from areas around Mackay like the Finch Hatton Gorge Waterway and the Eulamere Wetlands. It has a playground for the kids and a café as well! It's best to get there by car, it takes about 7 minutes from the Oaks Rivermarquee on River Street and about 8 minutes from the Oaks Carlyle Suites on Alfred Street. You can of course hike there on foot but it will take about 40 minutes to an hour.

General Advice for your visit in Mackay
- From the Airport 13cabs will pick you up from the Airport, if you wish to go by Uber you will need to leave the Airport premises to be picked up. Of course, you can always hire a car from the Airport with lots of car rentals to choose from.
- Most of the restaurants can be found on Victoria Street, be aware the restaurants can sometimes close early even on weekends.
- Most places are walkable if you don't want to hire a car or take taxis or Ubers, but that does depend on where you want to go and what you have to do.
