They offer an All-You-Can-Eat Brunch Buffet every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm and on holidays, including Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Choose from grouper, fried chicken, steak, Canadian bacon or crab cakes Benedicts with home-made Hollandaise sauce or Cathead buscuits smothered in homemade peppered sausage gravy, and so much more! The famous Benedicts and a special breakfast menu are also available every Saturday from 9 am to noon.

Even though the menu has changed over the years, it has kept the true American cuisine Poor Richard’s was founded on. After over 4 decades, all sauces and dressings are still prepared from scratch and the beef is still aged for tenderness and flavor. The seafood arrives twice a week from Florida, while the produce is delivered daily for freshness. Let me introduce you to one of Gainesville’s hidden gems! Remedy distillery is a fantastic little place that more people need to know about. If you are even reading this, your answer is yes, yes you should go and check this place out. It’s very nicely appointed, incredibly clean, has a very nice bar and lounge area inside, along with a great outdoor area with fire pits, outdoor lighting and a TV to play the game or something while you relax. Some outdoor games too. Ralph and Keith are down to earth guys that will happily take their time to chat with you, share their story and talk about their love, their distillery and the Bourbon making craft. They make several, small batch Bourbons that are all very drinkable, nice sipping Bourbons. They even have a cocktail selection featuring their Bourbons that’s probably 9-12 different cocktails which are all really nice! I recommend Grandmas Secret Cider, Apple Cider and their Remedy Red cinnamon Bourbon. This is an excellent little hang out on a fall evening like we just enjoyed. Grab some food from the BBQ joint next door or BYOF and relax outside by the fire pit, sampling their different drinks and cocktails. They give a free tasting of each of their Bourbons and you won’t regret coming to Remedy. Once you’ve been here, you’ll definitely want to come back. A local hidden gem to be sure.

Located on the grounds of Camp Glisson, Cane Creek Falls is open to the public during daylight hours except when camp is in session. You must check into the Visitors Center prior to visiting the falls. To reach the falls from Dahlonega follow highways Business US19 and GA60 north for 2 miles. Turn left at the sign for Camp Glisson (across from Ace Hardware) and go 1 mile to the parking area near the bottom of the falls. Swimming is not permitted and fishing is permitted on a catch and release basis.

Parking is available at the bottom, at the top, and near the middle of the falls so it is possible to start the walk from either the middle, top or bottom. To reach the falls from Dahlonega head west on GA52 for 4 miles, then turn right to stay on GA52 for 14 miles. Turn right onto Amicalola Falls State Park Road, then take the first left to stay on Amicalola Falls State Park Road.
