Great place to rent a pontoon for a full or have day and float Carters Lake. Carters Lake is more than 450 feet deep and spans 3200 surface acres. Carter's Dam is the tallest earthen dam east of the Mississippi River. This lake is quieter than other lakes because its there are no private docks or houses along its shoreline.

A more rugged trail with multiple shallow stream crossings, narrow tread segments, and some steep trail segments and is rated moderate. Trail goes along Bear Creek. There are two loop options, a 3mile loop (the lower loop) and a 6.7 mile loop (outer loop). The 3 mile lower loop takes you by a Gennett Poplar and immense old growth poplar.
