This is a Museum of two halves : a history of the Stroud area set in this lovely house and a contemporary, changing exhibition space showing artists and crafts people. There is also a contemporary Walled Garden. Look on their website to see what's on. Right next door is a small arboretum with a circular walk, the Stratford Park Leisure Centre and outdoor Lido.

Beautiful National Trust Woods. You can just wander around, cycle on the bridle ways, walk to Haresfield Beacon, or join the Cotswold Way to Painswick, Coaley Peak etc (The Way is about 10 mins from the annex).

Recently renovated the Stroudwater Navigation is a canal in England which linked Stroud to the River Severn. It is a destination in its own right and a good way to cycle or walk into the centre of Stroud, approx 40mins from The Annex. In the other direction you could go to Eastington and beyond. Ebley Mill, on the canal and River Frome was once a wollen Mill, has been restored and is the Stroud District Council Offices now.

Difficult to park however it is so historical, dating back to medieval times. It has the tomb of Edward II, modern 20th centuary art, stained glass windows, a beautiful cloister and a new garden to the front.

Includes Rococo Garden and Painswick Beacon. This beautiful village has the famous 100 yew trees in the Church Yard. There is a connection with the Civil War where the church was a battle field. The are two pubs and a few shops and many great walks from here.
