This is a great place to cool down in open spaces during the summer and autumn months. The last day they are open, they have an 'all dogs' day before they drain the pool. It is a lot of fun! Check out their website for more info. This public pool is two blocks away from the house, no need to drive.

The trails at Memmen Ridge are winding and a lovely escape right in town. A great place to see the colors change in autumn. Also within walking distance from house.

Less than an hour away from Castle Rock is the South Platte River in Roxborough State Park. There are campsites, hiking trails and dozens of spots to put in for a lazy river day. Highly recommend! Head west towards Sedalia off 67.
