Beaches
Amoreira is located at the mouth of a little river. During high tide, ocean water flows slowly into the river and the water gets about 3 meters high. We usually sit a bit upstream from the beach at the river; It’s the perfect place for kids.
During high tide you could swim, float up the river on a SUP or jump from the banks into the river, and during low tide you could walk through the creek to watch the crabs at the rocks on the other side, sit in the warm pools that form, or just play in the shallow waters.

Praia da Amoreira

Martinhal is a beautiful beach with a great tropical vibe lying in a bay close to Sagres. There is always a good breeze which makes it enjoyable also on very hot days. The water is calm most of the time and has an intense tropical colour due to the white sands. Water is easy accessible and you can choose between 2 nice restaurants. We prefer the one a bit down the dirt road, staff is really friendly there.
This is one of the few windsurfing spots in the Lagos area and it’s fun to watch these guys swishing over the water. You can rent kayaks, surfboards and pedal boats with slides there, which is also great fun.
