A small village in the exact midle of the lake. One of the most visited in northern Italy. It is surrounded by the mountains and the olive trees. You can get a ferry boat from here and reach the other small villages: an alternative way to visit the lake. (ask the host for the ferry boat timetable)

Varenna
A small village on the lake. One of the most visited on the Lecco side of the lake with its small and multicolored houses and its typical alleys. It is surrounded by the mountains and the typical greenery of the lake
The parking situation it's a bit complicated, so we suggest to get there by ferryboat from Bellagio or in the early morning or around dinner time.
Bergamo is quite far from Valmadrera (1h by car), but it is reachable by train from lecco (50 min far from lecco by train). Moreover it is 20 minutes far from the Orio al Serio Airport (and there is a bus coming directly from there to the airport) so if you're arriving/leaving from/to this airport and you have a half day to spend, Bergamo it's worthen.
the old town situated on the hill above the city is a real beauty especially at sunset.

Funicolare Bergamo - Città AltaBergamo is quite far from Valmadrera (1h by car), but it is reachable by train from lecco (50 min far from lecco by train). Moreover it is 20 minutes far from the Orio al Serio Airport (and there is a bus coming directly from there to the airport) so if you're arriving/leaving from/to this airport and you have a half day to spend, Bergamo it's worthen.

The Monte Barro regional parc is nice to visit for everyone: lonely travelers, families couples. The path starts from Galbiate (a small town 10 min far from Valmadrera by car) and you can reach the top of the mountain in more or less 1 h from where you'll be able to enjoy a stunning view.

in Oliveto Lario and in the other small villages in the neighborhood (onno for example) you'll find nice beaches sorrounded by the olive trees typical in this area. You can relax on the lake side in a really quiet place (the beaches are really small, we suggest to go there in the morning)

The trip takes 1h more or less, but you'll be able to enjoy the lake from the perfect point of view. (ask the host for the timetable; the tikets are available at the dock)

FIORE it's my favourite restaurant in Lecco.
The food is deliciuous and it offer a menu you'll never taste anywhere else.
The atmosfere is cozy but at the same time elegant and tranquil. Most important: in the 90s it was a Mafia propriety and used for illegal activities. once the clan was arrested the place was given to a non-profit associasion to rehabilitate it. It is now a symbol of legality and the antimafia feeling in Lecco, and the pizza is EVERYTHING
