A great cafe for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as well as coffee and drinks. It's historic as well, and my great, great aunt owned and operated the Tourist Home as a hostel in the mid 20th century for Spanish/Basque sheepherders. There's still a partial Basque handball court on the back patio!

Spend time walking around the historic grounds and viewing art as well as the well-stocked gift shop. Make sure to eat in the Turquoise Room restaurant while you're there!

Ski, snowboard, or just enjoy the views. There are many beautiful hikes on the San Francisco Peaks. My favorite is the Kachina Trail.

This is a wonderful place for a stroll that is within city limits and close. Several walking paths with views. You can hike to the back entrance of Buffalo Park from our home via the Pipeline Trail. It's a nice, easy to moderate hike that will take about an hour.

It gets cool in the evenings even in the summer, so don't forget a sweatshirt! We live around the corner from many wonderful hiking trails, and just steps from the Pipeline Trail at the base of Mt. Elden -- don't forget your hiking shoes, hat, and chapstick.
