Dating from the 13th to 14th century, Brentor Church is tiny. As England's 4th smallest parish, the church is 37 feet (11 m) long, 15 feet (4.6 m) wide, with a tower just 40 feet (12.2 m) high. But what it lacks in size- it seats around 40 people-, it makes up for with the view. Brentor church is one of 2 churches in the parish, this one built on the summit of a tor which is surrounded by probably iron age earthworks. The first church on the site was built circa 1130 by Robert Giffard, Lord of the Manor of neighbouring Lamerton, The site of the church makes it a landmark for miles around, even visible from where you are staying, although almost 15 miles away. Services are still held regularly. So long as you can walk up the steep path you're always welcome

If you are looking for a little treat whilst on holiday "The George Inn is a classical "Chocolate Box" thatched property which was first recorded as being on the current site in the early 1450's. Burned to the ground in 2008 and rebuild in 2010, every effort has been made to make it a space with the look and feel of classic bar and restaurant blending in with modern comfort. The bar is well stocked, with a wide variety of ales, lagers, spirits & wines and the food, prepped on the premises using local produce where possible, all lends to a warm and pleasurable experience."
