The Canadian Parliament Buildings house the Parliament of Canada. The buildings are one of the world's most important examples of the Gothic Revival style. While the buildings' manner and design are unquestionably Gothic, they resemble no building constructed during the Middle Ages. The forms were the same, but their arrangement is uniquely modern. They are centred around the Centennial Flame commemorating Canada's 100th anniversary as a Confederation. The Flame was first lit as the climax of the centennial celebrations of January 1, 1967 and remains lit today. Parliament is a short, scenic walk from Bella Notte B&B!
