Small village with a local shop (includes an ATM), three pubs, an excellent bakery, pharmacy, tea rooms and an historic church, famous for its C16th bell cage - see the bells being rung at 9.30am on Sundays. There are lots of lovely walks and places to explore.

Famous as the site of several of British landscape artist John Constable's paintings. Flatford is a tiny hamlet on the river Stour which is reached through East Bergholt. It has a lovely RSPB nature garden (free), and a National Trust information centre, tea room and shop. Paying car park to non-NT members.
