This Café was originally launched in 1997 by late Rock/Blues legend, Joe Cocker. It is a fantastic building with nice grounds and everything was done to Joe's standards. The Cockers no longer own the Café but if you are a fan you probably want to soak it up. This café does not have much of a local following and our guest reports are so-so. Occasional live music on summer weekend nights and a large saloon in the back.

Zack's has been a local favorite for almost 40 years. Everyone goes to Zack's for great Texas BBQ, traditional breakfasts and to mingle with the ranchers, cowboys, retired folk, and families.

This is my personal favorite breakfast spot in the North Fork Valley. Creative breakfasts, locally-sourced foods and a hippiesh vibe. Great food but be aware there are only two tables inside and several on the porch.

This is the best pizza I have had in Delta County. Lots of great specialty options as well as create-your-own pies. Good quality and very tasty! Occasional live music on the weekends. Sort of a hippie vibe. Nice outdoor patio and a local favorite spot for pizza and beer.

This is Paonia's best known farm-to-table restaurant. I have normally been pleased with their food and I like that most of it is sourced locally. There is indoor dining as well as a nice, shady outdoor deck.

Great lunches and dinners. The Flying Fork NEVER disappoints. They specialize in Italian food and creative fare with a focus on locally-sourced food. Great patio under the apple trees!

Not for everyone but a real step back in time to 1968 - meant affectionately. Not a traditional restaurant but a countercultural hot spot. There is also a food co-op on site featuring locally produced foods. If you recall the 60's counterculture fondly, this is an experience you do not want to miss. Food is self serve in a communal setting and by donation most days. Be aware that the Trading Post is closed on Saturdays.

Parks & Nature
This is not yet a very well known National Park, but it deserves to be! The south rim (accessed from Montrose) has the visitor center and small crowds, but the north rim (accessed from Crawford) is a secret gem. No crowds and there are plenty of places to enjoy the Canyon in solitude. Several nice overlooks. It is a truly amazing place and you should not miss it!

This is not yet a very well known National Park, but it deserves to be! No crowds and there are plenty of places to enjoy the Canyon in solitude. Several nice overlooks. It is a truly amazing place and you should not miss it!
Very cool 700 ft. high volcanic plug about 4 miles east of town. There is a hiking trail part way up the slope. A great place to watch the night sky as there is no visible artificial light at the base of Needle Rock.

Collective art gallery situated in a renovated local creamery building. This is a spot worth checking out. There is A LOT of local talent and this is the best place to see the creative output of the area. Also, DO NOT miss the bathrooms - just trust me on this! Occasional events and music too...

An amazing glass artist creates his blown glass at this studio just a block down the hill from the Inn. They don't have regular hours, so it might be hit or miss, but worth checking out. The glass work is unbelievable and if you are lucky, Jared might be blowing when you arrive.
