An established venue on Lisbon's nightlife circuit, Pensao Amor is located in an old boarding house near Cais do Sodre; (the name translates as "Love House"). It's aptly themed around an upscale, 19th-century burlesque club, complete with crimson velvet furnishings and walls lined with gilt-framed mirrors and dozens of antique prints and lithographs depicting ladies in risqué poses. The decadent mood is further set by careful attention to period detail right down to the faux trompe l'oeil ceiling and pub-style piano. The bar serves a great selection of beers, wine, spirits and cocktails and guests are further entertained by regular live music performances.

The top of a car park at the doorstep of Bairro Alto instantly became an afternoon and night hotspot when it opened in the summer of 2013. Wooden tables and small potted trees facing 25 de Abril Bridge create the feeling of a garden suspended above the city, serving a variety of drinks and burgers into the night, to the sounds selected by a DJ.

Great view, fashion, sophisticated! Found at the top of the Tivoli Hotel, this is a lounge area with sofas where you may gaze out to the river, to the castle and downtown. It offers a good list of cocktails (including non-alcoholic) and there is also a choice of snacks. It opens late in the afternoon, but only in the warmer months, usually between April and September.

Fashionable and exclusive. This club at the top of a building in the Chiado district is one of the most exclusive addresses in Lisbon since it opened in 2008. It offers a nearly-360º view of the city’s historic center, and has a minimalist decor and a sophisticated-yet-chilled-out ambience. It serves Japanese dinners from Tuesday to Saturday, and cocktails late into the night to the sound of music by the resident DJ. The admission can be difficult as they have private list, but it’s worth to try.

Modern. Air, Room, Zero: the three concepts behind this sprawling dance club -- one of the most dynamic, energetic and loudest of Lisbon's nightspots. Main is huge. It's composed of three floors, each designed around a theme and a corresponding soundtrack. The top floor ("Air") houses a trendy Japanese restaurant that spills out onto a wonderful open-air terrace. After the kitchen closes this space is dedicated to the irresistible rhythm of Brazilian music, funky R&B and even silky smooth pop. The next floor down ("Room") is an altogether different proposition.

Modern, great location next to river (lots of young people: 20’s).Draped over a Lisbon quayside like a reclining model, Urban Beach is the quintessential cool hangout, a sophisticated nightspot that is a regular backdrop for fashion parties and VIP celebrations. That said, Urban's friendly staff always welcomes casual clubbers seeking a mellow retreat in stylish surroundings. The lounge-bar overlooks the river and during the warmer months soft plump sofas are positioned on the patio to create an outdoor chill out zone. The dance floor is bathed in lilac and emerald mood lighting, with the occasional laser beam display slicing the air.

Best Traditional Portuguese food. Well over a quarter of a century of not so much serving clients but rather receiving friends. Because we believe that eating is an act of affection and serving is proof of that friendship. Hence the reason we attend each client with the dedication, refinement and the warmth with which we welcome a friend. Throughout over thirty years, the specialities we restored from one of the longest traditions within the scope of Portuguese gastronomy have gained their due recognition from the cream of national and international critics. However, true recognition comes with the familiar smiles of those who visit us with all the feeling of returning home.

The Delta Q coffee brand's flagship store on Avenida da Liberdade is also a lounge/café with comfortable sofas and long tables inviting you to stay for a cup of coffee or tea. It offers free wi-fi, and if you get hungry it serves light meals (salads, soups, wraps and desserts). The materials used in the décor, such as wood and cork, reflect the brand's focus on the excellence of Portuguese products, also available in the form of olive oils, wines and chocolates, for sale next to its coffee machines.

This coffee shop says its goal is to "select, roast and serve the best coffee in Lisbon." To achieve that, it imports ripe coffee from Brazil, Colombia and Ethiopia, roasting and grinding it on the premises, and serving it on the spot or placing it in packages of 250 or 500 grams for sale. This place mix an industrial and a vintage style, with wood and brick walls, and large coffee bags. To accompany the coffee there are custard tarts, croissants and some options for light meals, such as sandwiches and salads, which may also be accompanied by craft beer.

Sr. Lisboa is a modern petisqueira, at the back of Avenida da Liberdade, Rua de São José, striving to do different. I say this because those who are ahead are new people, those who serve are new people and those who are in the kitchen, from what you see inside, are new people - but well-disposed, be aware. The effort begins soon with the decoration, which brings the kitchen into the living room, with pans hanging from the ceiling, tables made with glass tops on stove grills, and followed by the snack menu. The prices are adjusted to the current reality, 20 and a few euros per person to get full, and Mr. Lisbon knows how to receive.

Almada Negreiros was 22 when he wrote the Manifesto anti-Dantas, a leaflet of protest against the writer Julius Dantas. Filipe Nabais, a confessing admirer of this text that marked the Modernist movement of the early twentieth century, took advantage of the motto and made it a snack restaurant two minutes walk from Avenida da Liberdade. Disregard anyone who thinks that at the Anti-Dantas Tavern you will find the usual snacks. In a small space, where twenty people fit, the walls are lined with news from old newspapers (the Manifesto is also there). But it's the table that's the real reason to talk!

Three floors of the Tivoli Theater were divided into restaurant, bar, gourmet store, and men's boutique ("Fashion Clinic") bringing together several luxury labels. The name is pronounced "je ne sais quoi," and the place does have a certain Parisian touch, starting at the entrance with a corner of the French luxury bakery Ladurée, with its famous colorful macaroons. It’s a destination for any time of the day, from breakfast to lunch, 5 o’clock tea, and dinner. On the ground floor is the "delibar,” a gourmet store and bar serving light meals accompanied by wine or cocktails, and downstairs is the boutique. Upstairs is the restaurant, for which you need to book a table in advance.

Over the years, chef Olivier has presented his personal interpretations of international cuisine, has experimented with sushi, and for his fourth restaurant he decided to concentrate on guilty pleasures: wood-oven-baked pizzas, burgers, and pastas. Found just around the corner from Avenida da Liberdade, it has a laid-back atmosphere, and the interior includes a DJ booth and tables with an electronic device to draw the attention of your waiter. It's also a good destination for pre- or post-dinner cocktail at the bar.

"The Belém Tower is a World Heritage Site since 2007, is considered one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal and already takes 500 years. It was built on the bank of the Tagus in 1515 to serve as a fortress defending the entrance to the port of Lisbon by the river. Under the orders of King Manuel I, the Blessed, it was built with a carved stone with maritime themes (references to the Discoveries). The tower also marks the starting point of lusas expeditions to Asia, Africa and America. The Tower is one of the most important monuments of Lisbon and also Portugal.
