Sightseeing
They don't call Elmore the beauty spot of Vermont for no reason. Drive up Route 12 to the state park and hoof it for about an hour to the top of the firetower where you can enjoy panoramic views along the green mountains from Belvidere to Camels Hump and along the Worcester Range. Afterwards, go for a swim in Lake Elmore. This is an easy to moderate hike depending and I consider it 'low hanging fruit' considering the payoff.

Drive up Route 12 to the state park and hoof it for about an hour to the top of the firetower where you can enjoy panoramic views along the green mountains from Belvidere to Camels Hump and along the Worcester Range. Afterwards, go for a swim in Lake Elmore. This is an easy to moderate hike depending and I consider it 'low hanging fruit' considering the payoff.
Clean 219 acre lake sits just below Elmore Mountain and is a great place to cool off during a hot day with a public beach and SUP rentals from Paddle North. The lake is also boat friendly with a launch on the south end, water skiers rejoice!

Its wooden frame is dark and weathered, and it was here, if the legend is to be believed, that a girl with a broken heart took her own life.
In the summer, enjoy swimming in the swimming hole beneath the bridge.
