Morning coffee

Situated on the sidewalk of our historical boulevard, you can sit and enjoy a glass of prosecco or a great coffee specialty - or you can take it to go. Also there you can have a quick breakfast or snack (all healthy!)

The Hill of Cotroceni was once covered by the forest of Vlăsia, which covered most of today's Bucharest. Here, in 1679 a monastery was built by Şerban Cantacuzino, later to be transformed into a palace in 1888 by Carol I. Houses were built in the area near the palace by the royal servants and by high-ranking military personnel. [1] Carol I also build a royal train station named Gara Cotroceni near the palace. The train station was relocated by the communist regime and was later used for transporting materials for the construction of Casa Poporului.

Open market with fresh produce

The sellers here are really growing themselves the vegetables. You will recognize them by the wrinkles on their faces (years of labor in the sun will do that to anyone) or a red glow in their cheeks :) Prices are written on boards next to vegetables and the taste is waaaay better than anything from hypermarkets.

Subway is fast and cheap

(1eur for 2 trips) Along the center of the city there is a very well organized metro transport network. It works from early morning (5am) till late night (11pm). It is right outside my apartment.

Little stores

Even if they are the best choice for location (right next to my building), the prices are higher than in supermarkets. So if you can - organize your shopping from Carrefour Orhideea, Kaufland or Mega Image. This is also the order from cheapest to a bit more expensive :) Mega image is also close to the apartment so if you're not planning on buying supplies for a full month it's okay too :) For cooking I would advice using the Open market "Piazza Matache". Harder without knowing the language, but manageable since all prices are written on cards near the vegetables. These are usually homegrown.
