A hidden gem here on our doorstep. Suitable for cycling and walking. The kids have gone out of Mawddach trail is a old railway line route which goes from Dolgellau to Barmouth. Approximately 10 miles in length and all on the flat you can do as much or little of this route as you wish. There is a pub/restaurant The George III Hotel on the route for a well earned break whilst relaxing & taking in the stunning scenery. There is also regular public transport (bus) from Barmouth to Dolgellau.

They stock a wide range of accessories and bikes, to ensure that you get the most out of your visit to Coed y Brenin and, right next door, the visitor center café serves a great range of drinks and home cooked cakes and meals. This is not fir the faint hearted!! Antur Stiniog is an uplift assisted Mtb Centre located at Blaenau Ffestiniog in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia North Wales. They offer the best uplift service in the UK to access the mtb trails, along with a fantastic Café serving locally sourced food, Downhill bike hire, Skills Coaching, and a huge Welsh Welcome to all. Antur Stiniog have 7 trails that range from blue grade to black grade and have had international acclaim from Mtb press and riders alike. All trails are accessed by our uplift service (they are an uplift facility only) which is regarded as the best uplift service in the UK. To fully experience the Uplift Service at its best we highly recommend booking a full day ticket. The uplift service will do up to 20 runs a day. We recommend arriving as early as possible to get the most out of your day and spend your time at Antur ‘Stiniog doing what you came to do ride, not push! The first uplift starts at 10am and runs until 4.15pm breaking for half an hour at 1pm for lunch.
