My favorite restaurants
Durango has many, many restaurants, and they are all excellent. I'm listing a few of my favorites, but be sure and explore the downtown area for our many craft breweries and unique local restaurants
Best local meat and farm fresh vegetables. The setting here is amazing, and you can tour the farm while waiting for your meal to cook. They are temporarily closed while they build a newer and larger restaurant, but it is still worth a visit to their farm market! They should open the new restaurant in early July.

James Ranch Grill

Great food in the Valley Clubhouse at Tamarron/Glacier Club. Specials every day, and they also serve breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos.

Excellent thin crust pizza cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven. Try their lunch special of a personal size pizza and drink. My favorite pizza in town!

You can't go wrong at Steamworks - they have an excellent variety of food and lots of local beers.

Excellent fine dining. Try their lobster burger for something special! The rooftop patio has a great atmosphere and the food here is amazing.

Recreation
Hiking, biking, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing - you name it, Durango has got it! We are in the San Juan Mountains in the most beautiful part of Colorado.
Haviland Lake is only a couple miles north of us and it's a great spot for kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and hiking. You can hike around the lake, or hike through the woods over to Four Bay. The lake is stocked with lots of trout just waiting for you to catch them. Or just have a picnic in the day use area of the campground and watch the ospreys fishing for their dinner.
