What to Pack: Clothing, hiking gear

Blue Mountains has changeable weather so it is best to bring warm and cool clothes regardless of season. For hiking please bring water bottle, hat, sunscreen, umbrella etc and warm clothes as backup.

Trains from Central Station Sydney.

Trains on the Blue Mountains Line to Blackheath are usually one per hour with a 2 hour gap on weekdays. If there is trackwork (train tracks being upgraded) there will be buses to replace trains. Blackheath Station is after Medlow Bath which is after Katoomba coming up the mountains. Purchase an Opal card for tap on / tap off travel on buses, trains and ferries in NSW or pay by Visa. Check balance or add money to your Opal card atBlackheath BP service station. The train takes 2 hrs 20 minutes from Central Station Sydney to Blackheath.
