You will be driving through Saguaro National Park as you go in and out of town. Stop and see the Hohokam "picture rocks" dating back to 1,000 AD. You can see some at Signal Hill in the park, or ask me for directions to an even better spot that many locals don’t even know about on your way into town!

You will then go up Catalina Highway and pass through all of the ecosystems in Arizona from the desert floor (Tucson is at 2,300’, but the Catalinas go up to 9,800’ with Ponderosa pine. Summer Haven is at the top (a small touristy town where you can get a nice lunch). The road winds around and there are lots of turnouts for picture taking. A good drive to add on to a Sabino Canyon hike, perhaps!

A GREAT place to visit for a day. On the weekends during the winter they have gunfights on the street! Definitely go into the OK Corral and watch their interactive and educational show where it all began!
