past LAHAINA is HONOLUA bay, past Napilil,park by outhouses/pretty&short JUNGLE walk to the SNORKLE BAY...there are 2 more beaches before there, with 77 STAIRS, SEALIFE GREAT!
Long sandy walk and no traffic near the beach to see Haleakala hills behind you. Just be VERY CAREFUL IN THE SURF, watch flag warnings or don’t swim if surf looks at all high to waist. Going to swim at kam2&3 are safer coves& by 5 palms is very nice can be sheltered from wind too!

Makena Big Beach

Food scene
You can walk here as it’s 1.5 blocks@ nearest stoplight! Has so many restaurants plus 24hour groceries@cvs/longs drugs. Past this is large TIMES MARKETgroceries, Maui Pie. My favorites are Java coffee, ROASTED CHILES,fork&salad,Nalu’s& Vietnamese,sushi,Japanese&Thai are also options in mall here!
