If you've got a car, head out to Sauvie's for a few hours - it's a beautiful island that has farms and orchards and beautiful views. For even better scenery, drive north on Lombard to cross the St. John's Bridge, one of Portland's most iconic scenes. Head back across and there is a little brewery under the east side St. Johns Bridge to stop at for afternoon beers.
