Essentials
It's got a lot of up-scale items the local grocery stores don't have but it's also more expensive. It's a 5 minute walking distance but for a larger, cheaper store Bónus, Krónan and Nettó are all nearby as well, 10-15 minutes away.

Cheap but has a pretty decent variety compared to Bónus for example. Open until 20:00 and gets busy around 17:00. I'd go between 13-15:00.
Nettó is across from it and they carry all kinds of vegan and organic goods!

Sightseeing
It's just a 5min walk from the apartment and leads to the lighthouse on Seltjarnarnes on the left and Grandi on the right. Whenever there's a beautiful sunset or the Northern Lights are going crazy locals go here to enjoy them. You can walk by the sea all the way to the lighthouse or just sit down on a bench and take it all in. Just mind the weather, if it's really bad stay away haha.

It's gonna take a while to get there but the view on the way is worth it. Just keep walking and you'll reach it eventually. The beach is right by Perlan which is also a great spot to check out.

An up and coming neighbourhood here in Vesturbær. It used to be populated only with fishermen and the fish workers. In recent years it's been remodelled and now you can find great restaurants here (cheap to very expensive) and local design shops as well as some boutiques. They have the best ice-cream shop there as well, Valdís!

Local pool. If you have to you have to go to our pools. It's the most Icelandic thing you could do. But make sure to follow the guidelines when it comes to washing before you jump in. The chlorine level in the pool is really low so a thorough wash is expected!
