High up above the Lago de Coatepeque, and in line with two other volcanos is el Cerro Verde, which it too is a volcano. The lake and valley views from the drive to this location are incomparable. And the views at the top of Cerro Verde are too.

This colonial town in the middle of the country's Blue Mountain ridgeline and and best producing coffee farms is home to many pictoresque souvenir stores, gourmet coffee shops, and restaurants.
