Maui Sightseeing in no particular order

Here are some favorites.
Plan ahead and reserve a spot (60 days) before your trip. Then get up early to see the sunrise at Haleakala Crater. Make sure to dress warmly and allow extra time for traffic. Multiple companies offer drive up/bike down (to coast) services if you want to venture and have a hard time getting a sunrise reservation. Check their website for information, on this and what hours you can visit without a reservation.

North Kihei Road, Route 31 - Check before going. This has been closed for repairs. It has a nice "boardwalk" that parallels the ocean and inland ponds. It is a great place to see seabirds. Did you know the Hawaiian archipelago is home to the largest tropical seabird community in the world! On Maui, seabirds breed in habitats ranging from coastal dunes to the summit of Haleakala. Some Maui seabirds are 'a'o (Newell shearwater), 'a (Red footed booby-look for their brightly colored red feet), 'ua'u (Hawaiian petrel) and 'au'u mani (wedge-tailed shearwater). During the fledgling season, young birds leave their burrows for the first time in search of their ocean feeding grounds.

192 Maalaea Rd, Wailuku, HI 96793 - Great place to see tropical fish, sharks, etc. Look on their website for advance ticket purchase discounts. Sometimes they have weekly rates that are close in price to single entry. Week long pass can be a good option if you have younger children, with shorter attention spans.

300 Maalaea Rd Suite 211, Wailuku - Great place to book whale watching with. Relatively short drive from condo to the Ma'alaea Bay harbor. They have a focus on education, so you get to learn about the whales out on the cruise. Make sure to check migration schedule of whales. They migrate to Maui to have their babies.

Ulua Beach Rd, Kihei - One of the best places for beginning level snorkeling. A number of groups scuba dive from this beach also. Plan to go in the first part of the morning. you have a better chance of easy parking and the water is generally smoothest earlier in the day. Look for the public road between the large resorts. Leave valuables at home. Bring snorkel, towel/mat, footwear to walk down to the beach, water and snacks.

Fitness

Maui‘s best yoga is just five minutes away. Slightly inland from Condo. It is on second floor in industrial complex. Make sure to show up 15 minutes early for your first class if you haven’t registered online. You can also buy multi passes and share it between two people. In addition to doing classes in their studio they do classes at other places like the Wailea Shopping plaza. If you’re planning to do multiple classes, we strongly recommend bringing or buying a yoga mat and Yoga Towel at target (or sometimes cheaper version at Ross by Safeway). Studio sells and rents mats at a premium price.
