A wonderful little known adventure, 20 mins out of Martinborough - this is a 3 hour round trip walk through up through bush and tracing the river back through a limestone chasm. As you will need to walk in the river some of the way, this is not suitable for young children. Open between November and April. Book your tickets at https://www.patunafarm.co.nz

Feel like a walk into "Lord of the Rings" scenery. Stunning, moonscape towers of rock and earth. Bit of a steep haul up, and stunning palliser scenery is your reward.

The Cape Palliser lighthouse is the Final stop of your coastal day trip. You have walked up the Pinnacles, driven through Ngawi and taken crazy photos of the line up of enormous tractors on the beach and driven through the largest North Island seal colony to get to the lighthouse at the end of the road. Park at the bottom, then crunch the 258 steps to the lighthouse - built in 1897.

A locals secret, this atmospheric log cabin tucked in the bush is only open on a Friday evening. You must book your pizza base ahead of time, as it is very popular. Dress warm as some of the seating is outside. 06-370 1129

"Karahui" is our favourite place for dinner in Martinborough. Fantastic food! A good idea to make an online booking, as it does get booked out. "Tohi" the gin bar next door is also a great place for a drink before dinner.

If you are poking around the 2nd hand book shops in Featherston, The Royal hotel's restaurant "Brac & Bow" is a popular food stop. Breakfast is 9-11, and after that lunch... although the french toast is so popular it is on both menus. It is often booked out, so best to make a booking.

A bit out of Martinborough - towards the coast, this is the restaurant of Coney wines, and is open for lunch. Wonderful platters for 2 of delicious local produce. A platter for 2 is about $100.

No matter your size or shape, The best bra fitting I have ever experienced -with a great range of all sizes. They will keep your fitting details on their database, so you can just ring for more to be sent, or go in and choose other colours... don't need to try on again. I NEVER thought I would be recommending a bra shop.
